Montara Water and Sanitation Districts offers a range of services including water, sewer, and garbage.
Sewer Authority Mid-Coastside (SAM) – MWSD is a member of SAM, the agency that collects and cleans our Coastside community's wastewater before it enters the ocean. SAM meets monthly on the 2nd and 4th Monday at 7:00pm. Kathryn Slater-Carter and Peter Dekker presently serve as SAM board members.
Recology of the Coast – MWSD has contracted with Recology of the Coast for trash pickup, recycling, and waste hauling.

Water
MWSD manages the water system that serves the Montara-Moss Beach area in San Mateo County, ensuring water supply is reliable and meets federal and state drinking water quality regulatory standards.
- Every year, our certified water quality staff collect and outside state-certified labs conduct about 1,200 analyses to ensure your water is safe and is in compliance with federal and state drinking water regulations.
- To ensure long-term future water quality and system reliability, the District actively implements a program of system improvements, including the design and construction of additional storage facilities and a centralized water treatment facility.

Sewer
